Police clamp down on rogue traders

Police and trading standards officers from across the force area took part in a national operation on June 30 to clamp down on doorstep criminals. Teams of officers patrolled each district to identify anyone offering to do work at the homes of elderly and vulnerable people at hugely inflated prices or without proper paperwork. Read more

A resident recently received a phone call promising the refund due to incorrect Council Tax banding, and it is believed that this was an attempt to gain the person’s banking details. Read more

New K2 housing plans on hold in light of “Anthrax contamination” on development site

The controversial K2 housing scheme in south Keynsham looks set to face even greater problems over claims animal carcasses contaminated with anthrax are buried there.
285 new homes are planned to be built on the green belt to the south west of the town and last week, Bath and North East Somerset Council received a tip-off that it could be contaminated. Read more
