About Us
Welcome to the Keynsham East Community Safety Action Group!
We are a non-profit group of residents, working in partnership with businesses and local authority representatives, who regularly meet to discuss the needs of the area and turn it in to ACTION. Real action.
Here you’ll have access to much of the information and advice that concern all the residents and businesses in the area of Keynsham East.
These pages are designed to be easy to get the information that is important to you and allow you to feed back any comments, suggestions or advice that you may have on the matter. In essence, it’s a website FOR you and BY you.
All the people that contribute to this website have a direct interest in building strong community relationships between residents and our partners…
The website is just a small part of what we do.
Since the group was formed in June 2005 we have played an active role in the following local achievements:
- Liaised with the local police and residents and businesses to address numerous issues related to antisocial behaviour in the area.
- Met with representatives of Wellsway school and the Youth Service to consider the provision of ‘diversionary’ activities for young people in the area.
- Organised a very successful floodlit six-a-side competition on the new school all-weather pitch, attended by over 100 local students and residents.
- Liaised with local authority over the installation of ‘alleygates’ at the rear of the Chandag Road shops.
- Later secured funding and supervised the installation of the green pallisade fencing and gates in the Service Road, and at the request of residents nearby, secured further funding for installation of gates at the sides of the shops.
- Designed and developed a printed newsletter delivered to over 1600 households, 4 times a year.
- Began an effective and beneficial dialogue with the Managers and owners of the Chandag Road shops to address litter and subsequent vermin issues.
- Organised and ran a successful coffee morning for local residents and helped secure support for more of these to happen in 2007.
- Built on our relationship with the local police to assist in the forming of the first meetings of PACT. Click here to read more on this.
…and we need your support. If you feel you have something to give to benefit the community – no matter how little – or simply have an issue that you feel needs to be raised then please let us know. Contact by email on contact@kecsag.org
